LINKIN PARK To Play Private Concert For MUSIC FOR RELIEF Japan Tsunami Fund-Raising Challenge
July 5, 2011From the band's official web site, LINKIN PARK is challenging supporters of Music For Relief (MFR) to raise money for Japan tsunami relief to gain access to a private concert.
Every supporter who raises at least $500 will be invited with a guest, to a private LINKIN PARK concert in a small, intimate venue in the Los Angeles area. The location of the show will be disclosed only to those who reach their fundraising goal.
.Joining forces with LINKIN PARK on this campaign are Japan's B'Z, the best-selling artist in the history of Japan. B'Z, who recently contributed a track to Music For Relief's Download To Donate campaign and are involved in various relief efforts to help rebuild their homeland, will also perform at the show.
Participants can begin fundraising at secretshowforjapan.com on June 30, and must reach their fundraising goal by August 24 to gain access to the show. The most exclusive experiences are reserved for those who raise even more than $500. The top 50 fundraisers will attend a meet-and-greet with LINKIN PARK band members, and the top 10 will also receive signed instruments from the band. The top fundraiser will be invited to watch the show from the stage.
The innovative social fund-raising technology for the event is provided by give2gether, creators of a Web-based platform to help 501(c)(3) non-profits raise money among young, socially-networked philanthropists. Participants in the MFR campaign can set up their own personalized fundraising webpage and share it instantly in one click with their Facebook friends as well as their contacts on six popular social networks simultaneously, giving rise to the new expression "Personal Social Responsibility" (PSR).
"We are excited to see a new generation of social-online-activists raise thousands of dollars purely through their social activism," said Arnon Shafir, give2gether's CEO and Co-founder.

All proceeds from the campaign will benefit Music for Relief's Japan earthquake and tsunami relief effort in support of Save The Children. In the immediate aftermath of the disaster, the organization set up multiple child-friendly spaces in shelters in affected areas, providing children with an opportunity to play safely while allowing parents to work on the recovery. In the long-term, Save the Children will support civil society groups in the affected area focused on providing services, care, and assistance to children.
